Whitefoot Transport

We are available weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 10AM to 6PM.  All transports are coordinated through the Whitefoot Medical Clinic (250 765-0544).

The important thing is, our driver remains exclusively available for you until your medical problem is dealt with.  Since X-ray facilitIes and on site prescriptions are available at the Whitefoot Clinic in Big White, most problems will be dealt with locally and immediately. If the local doctor decides you need to go to the Hospital in Kelowna (see http://www.interiorhealth.ca/health-services.aspx?id=280) Cost of return transport to Kelowna is roughly the same as a one way trip with the BC Ambulance.  BC ambulance service will take you to the hospital (for $630 if you are from out of country), but do not provide return transportation or always allow travel companions.  If your problem is of a non-acute nature they often send a van from Kelowna (see http://www.interiorhealth.ca/uploadedFiles/Information/News/News_Releases/interfacility_rfp_award_19nov2008_final.pdf).

This service is not covered by Provincial Health Care plans (including MSP), and is not intended for patients who require emergency transport directly to Kelowna General Hospital (call 911).  This local package service ($200) includes pickup anywhere in the community of Big White (including Ski Patrol), transport to the Whitefoot Medical Clinic for treatment, and return service to your residence at Big White .  If transport to or from Kelowna is required, the cost is $100/h or portion thereof.  You are allowed to bring up to 4 travel companions, and the driver is happy to make stops as required on the return to Big White.
