X-ray technologist required by the Whitefoot Clinic.

Location: Big White, BC, CANADA;

Work Site: Whitefoot Health Center
Status: Seasonal Part Time (25 h/wk)
Start Date: Dec. 15, 2010 End Date: April 1, 2010

Salary: $25 per hour     Hours: 1200-1700h Mon-Fri

Have mornings off in BC's second largest Ski Resort.  Work is in a pleasant Private Clinic, the Whitefoot Medical Clinic, and may include portable x-rays at the Ski Patrol Facilities.  Subsidized accomodations and a free ski pass are availbable to the successful applicant.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs radiographic and clerical duties on assigned shifts in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and established safety guidelines and standards.  Other duties as required for the operation and administration of the Whitefoot Medical Clinic.


The technologists will perform a limited set of radiologic procedures and examinations in hospital radiology departments under the direction of an on0-site physician to produce radiographic studies which are used in medical diagnosis to locate injuries, foreign bodies, pathological conditions or lesions within the body. The technologist will receive and interpret requests and/or instructions for radiologic procedures; gain the cooperation of patients; operate radiographic equipment; protect patients from secondary radiation using ALARA principals; and record results.  Ongoing quality asssurance standards will be performed.   These positions require knowledge of radiation protection standards; knowledge of the function of the major divisions of the skeletal system and major organs; and knowledge of the physical concept of energy and the property of X-rays and electric circuits to perform diagnostic procedures and to assist as a member of a medical team in radiologic examinations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of a recognized school of Medical Radiation Technology - Radiography.  Must have experience in extremity radiography.  Current CPR.
