Figure Ski Enterprises Inc. will be running a free shuttle on the above days for a Spring Break Arts Camp at the Rotary Center for the Arts, located in the heart of the Cultural District in Kelowna. Featuring a wide selection of fun and creative arts activities, Arts Blast is the total arts experience for kids. The 2 day arts camp will allow your child to explore the power of imagination as they take classes in Art, Music, Drama and Dance. Guided by talented and inspiring "top flight" instructors, Arts Blast will give your child the opportunity for individual learning and growth (or at least get them out of the house for a couple of days).

All classes are 9AM to 3PM both days.  Bus leaves from Long Term Parking in Happy Valley (where all the trailers are parked)at 745AM and returns at 4:30PM to the same location. The shuttle is free, and the class cost $85 (total for both days).

  • Mr. Ganda and the Big White Fire Department / WEP program have developed a rink on the tennis court at the school. 
  • All ice and facility use will be at the user's own risk, and all users are responsible to ensure the ice surface is safe and free of debris, and that all participants have appropriate protective gear to include a minimum of helmet and gloves.  BWCS and School District 51 take no responsibility for the upkeep or safety of the rink or surrounding area.
  • The rink if for exclusive use by School children, parents, and maintenance staff (including WEP and Big White employee staff by prior arrangement only with Mr. Gandha or Ms. Leibel).
  • In return for clearing the ice prior to the Zamboni (by 2PM Mondays and Wednesdays) WEP will be allowed 4 hours of ice use weekly.
  • In return for ice maintainance with the Zamboni twice weekly (at 2PM Mondays and Wednesdays), Big White employees staff will be allowed free use of the ice for 4 hours per week.  
  • No alcohol, smoking, or profanity on school property.

Dec. 28 http://www.mybigwhite.com/Members/mfigurski/eplex28 Figure Ski Enterprises Inc. will be running a shuttle on the above days for energyplex daycamps. Bus leaves at 8AM and returns at 5PM. Shuttle ride is free, and the program costs $49/d (but spots are limited). So far, 8 spots are reserved on a first come basis (as below), but we can confirm the number a by the 25th. Dec. to allow staffing.
    We have 4 additional spots on each day at $49 each (per day), including bus fare.  Activities at the Energyplex are

    I am “test driving” one of the WEP (BWFD work experience program), Nate, on a road trip to Kelowna tomorrow.  The bus will leave Big White at 5:30 PM from the Whitefoot.  The babysitter (Kaz) will be picked up enroute to the Harvest Golf Club for the Calona Vineyard (Howard Soon) wine pairing (see http://www.localwineevents.com/events/detail/332791/kelowna-calona-vineyards-winemakers-dinner-at-the-harvest-golf-club-kelowna).  The bus will continue on to the Grand Five for a movie (I recommend 3D  “Guardians” ( http://www.google.ca/movies?hl=en&near=kelowna&ei=WCStTPLUIYj2tgPA0fCzDA&mid=e9bf913ca4a39de5) and return around 10PM (645PM start to a 90min. movie).  I’m supplying the bus and babysitters (Kaz and Nate will be watching the kids at the movie) free, but you’ll (naturally) have to pay for the movie/pairing.  Tickets are still available for the Pairing with Ryan at the Harvest (250 862-3177) but you’ll have to call early.  Craig (BWFD chief Wadell)  has a table and we’ll be joining him.

    No need to confirm, or reply.  Just show up at the Whitefoot at 5:30 PM if you’re interested.  We can drop the kids off at their house on our return.

All courses should have 18 holes open (currently Castlegar has 9 open and Kokanee has 17). Four rounds at Kokanee Springs (the "Two Four of Kokanee package) forms the “core” component of a 4 day (3 night) 152 hole (8 round) package. The bus holds 17 people. We will try to go as foursome multiple (8, 12, or 16) to allow a tournament.
    Day 1 (Monday); Depart Big White 7AM; play 18 holes at Christina Lake (447-9313; c=442 7524
    ) at 900AM and 908AM (confirmed) then 18 at Castlegar (365-5006) at 300PM and 307PM (confirmed).   Overnight in Nelson or Castlegar (free option would be my place).

    Day 2 (Tuesday): Play AM in Balfour (229-5655) 830AM and 840AM (confirmed) then get on the Balfour Ferry (229-5655) to Kokanee Springs and play 1st  (of 4 tournament) rounds that afternoon (tee time 232PM & 240PM..

    Day 3 (Wednesday); Play Kokanee Springs twice (booked tee times 718AM & 726AM, then 232PM & 240PM; last ones available) and listen to all sideshow Dave’s jokes three times (Kokanee Springs Resident “Pro”).  To see the Kokanee 2-4 program click here.
    Day 4 (Thursday): Play Kokanee in AM (currently booked 1st avail tee time at 1022AM & 1030AM but we'll likely get an earlier time from cancellation), then Birchbank CC at 322PM and 33PM (confirmed) , before returning to big White around midnight.

    • Golf and accom at Kokanee is $325 (taxes included)
    • Golf at Christina, Castlegar, Balfour, & Creston (4 rounds with cart) will be about $240.
    • gas/bus is $50 for the week
